I absolutely love this! Who’da thunkit?
(And it has nothing to do with recent events. for truth. promise. really…)

I was going to post something profound for the New Year… and got stuck. Spent a whole day listening to old albums and browsing Facebook.
Who remembers Jam & Spoon? They had a track called “Right in the night” and I can’t seem to get it out of my head! (Well, funny that… I couldn’t get it out – till I typed that line! Now I’ve got Kylie in there!!)
Jam & Spoon:
Right in the night
Right in the night
Right in the night you’ll find
That if you want to fall in love you’ll fall in love
Right in the night
Right in the night sweet thing is what you’ll get
When you fall in love, you fall in love
Fall in love with music, fall in love with dance
Fall in love with anything that makes you want romance
Make a little softer on the way that you go
Just think that everything you touch could turn to gold
Fall in love with everything that you would love to love
You know that laughter is a kind form to wake you up
So don’t make me feel unpleasant like you do
You know that everything will fall right back on you
So fall in love with everything, fall in love with life
Forget about your troubles and be a little nice
You will not see me if you don’t want to look
Just come and get me in my big big bed of love
Big big bed of love
Right in the night
Right in the night
Right in the night you’ll find
That if you want to fall in love you’ll fall in love
Right in the night
Right in the night sweet thing is what you’ll get
When you fall in love, you fall in love
So fall in love with stories if fairy tales are true
Innocence is part of what you’re losin’ with your youth
Show a little confidence, show a little class
Don’t kiss the past, the past ain’t gonna last
Just fall in love with passion, fall in love with lust
Fall in love with all the things you’re always dreaming of
Fall in love with music and you will get by
Right in the night
Right in the night
Right in the night you’ll find
That if you want to fall in love you’ll fall in love
Right in the night
Right in the night sweet thing is what you’ll get
When you fall in love, you’ll fall in love
and now… Kylie!

Just to be there in your arms
Won’t you stay
Won’t you lay
Stay forever and ever and ever and ever

Set me free
Feel the need in me

I have no idea what happened after this – but in my tender, Christmas mood – I’m hoping their friends and families all went and had a long and leisurely picnic.
Peace, love and joy to you all.
Merry Christmas!!

I absolutely adore the director’s approach in this version of Placebo’s cover of Kate Bush!
… dont neccesarily always get me down,
but this morning finds me slightly melancholic.
I miss home.
Good afternoon everybody! (Or evening/morning – wherever you are right now.)
It’s Saturday afternoon in Brighton & Hove, and I’m sitting in the Farm tavern, listening to Martha’s new CDs (The Editors and Bloc Party) and eating quiche!! Going to have a Hot Toddy soon. It’s really helping to kick the sneak flu-attack that welcomed me yesterday ;0)
So yeah, off to Habitat shortly (with Noah) to buy the tavern a funky new christmas tree.
Hope you’re having an awesome weekend! See you in the Farm Tavern, yeah?
Cheers!!
It’s Friday afternoon and I have just about enough time to quickly update my blog. I waved goodbye to Earl’s Court on Wednesday – and took the train down south to Brighton & Hove. An old friend of mine has a pub there, called the Farm Tavern. Everybody is so nice here!! Martha (my friend) and her business partner Noah took me in and made me part of their family. The staff also embraced me with open arms – it’s absolutely amazing!!!
I think I have the coolest room in the world! The upstairs bar *lol* It’s brilliant – every bachelor’s dream, I promise you. The couch is super comfy, there’s a christmas tree in the bay window, a fire place and – of course – a real bar!!!
If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a great big favour and pop into the farm tavern (Farm road, Hove) If you come by before New Years – I might even serve you a pint!
Untill later then, all my love all over the world,
Willie
Sooooo… here’s a quick update on what’s been happening over the last week:
I arrived in Dublin, Republic of ireland, last week and Wednesday – where friends of my BF (of 4 months) picked me up. BF is doing a 6 week stint in the Irish midlands and asked me to join him for the last 2 weeks. I couldn’t think of a more awesome way to spend the holiday :0) I bought my tickets, packed as little as possible (BF wanted to buy me some winter outfits – seeing as how SA and ROI have WAY DIFFERENT views on what a “chilly” winter is!) and zipped over.
On Thursday morning, BF drove through from further inland to surprise me. Oh and surprise me he did!!! He woke me up quietly – and dumped me.
Thankfully his friends gave me shelter till I could fly back to Heathrow. THANK YOU GUYS!!! When the waves settle and fortune fills my sails again – I’m taking the two of you on a luxury cruise! (Or a braai at my place, perhaps?)
Right. I changed my ticket (from ROI to UK) and flew to London last night. The alteration cost me £104.00 – almost 4 times the origional ticket’s price. I can’t afford to change my ticket back to SA (not at that rate!) and have decided to make the most out of the remaining 2 weeks in the UK.
Thank you to my dear friend Ella, who’s taken me in for the first few nights!! My superstar!!
Next up – rethink the budget. I’ve contacted the bank and asked for a credit increase – which shouldn’t be a problem… apart from the days required for admin.
Priorities:
1) Winter clothes
2) Food
3) Comfortable shoes
4) Train tickets
5) 4 Nights’ accommodation
6) Chronic medicine
7) Camera?
Most galleries are free, thank heavens!
I’ll keep you posted – and if you feel like contributing to my trip (or my Credit Card’s balance) feel free to contact me via my Facebook profile!
Last night, in Johannesburg, the Council of judges for South Africa’s Marketing Excellence awards gave a gold medal and trophy to Stormhoek as the best Brand marketing campaign of the year (Small Budget).
They gave the same awards to other brands for Medium Budget and Large Budget and Extra Large Budget.
Finally, they gave a bigger trophy to the Grand Prix winner for the overall brand campaign winner and this went to Stormhoek.
Gold awards and trophies were handed out for sponsorship campaigns, arts and culture campaigns and an ex-advertising copywriter (now Absa Bank marketing manager) called Happy Ntshingila was crowned Marketing Man of the Year.

Not only is Stormhoek my FAVOURITE WINE OF ALL TIME – but they have a brilliant marketing strategy as well: Blogging. Yup – go to: www.stormhoek.co.za – that’s it! Brilliant.

Probably my favourite part of the Stormhoek image – is Hugh Macleod’s (he of gapingvoid fame) cartoons that are used as their labels. A few of them are posted below:![]()
